Argentina:

The good thing for us is that Argentina is now one of the best value for money snow travel destinations around. Tourism has increased dramatically in the past couple of years with more and more foreigners discovering Argentina's world class skiing/snowboarding, vineyards, food (amazing beef), lakes, mountains, beaches, culture, tango and music.
Ski and Boarding
The ski resorts of Chile & Argentina offer some of the World's most outstanding skiing and are easily accessible for Australian skiers and snowboarders. Once you have been the best thing about an Australian winter is returning to the alps of South America. The Andes Mountains, the highest outside of Asia consistently offer reliable ski seasons.
Argentina
Argentina has a wide range of ski resorts to suit all abilities. Las Lenas is possibly the most famous for the extreme skiers and those that crave powder, off-piste and backcountry skiing or snowboarding.
Bariloche in the Lake District of Patagonia is another well know resort with skiing for everyone in an idyllic setting on Lake Nahuel Huapi.
Other resorts in Argentina are less frequented. Chapelco Ski Resort is located above the town of San Martin de Los Andes in a beautiful Lake District setting. It has a snowpark and tree skiing and a wide range of pistes to suit all abilities.

Chile offers first class skiing in the Andes of South America. The skiing in Chile is truly World class with three main resorts Portillo, Valle Nevado & Termas de Chillan.
The skiing in Chile is in developed resorts with modern lift systems. There is a wide variety of skiing including off-piste areas with very few people taking the fresh tracks.
